At Keller Postman, Albert has represented thousands of consumers in court and in arbitration. He represents individuals whose privacy rights were violated by devices enabled with Alexa, Amazon’s smart home technology. He also represents individual consumers who were charged unfairly high prices by Amazon in light of Amazon’s most favored nation clause against third-party merchants. Many of Albert’s other representations remain confidential, but Albert also represents consumers in the cryptocurrency and online retail industries.
Before joining Keller Postman, Albert was an Associate at Kellogg, Hansen, Todd, Figel & Frederick PLLC in Washington, D.C., where he represented plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts at the trial and appellate levels. His practice at Kellogg Hansen focused on appellate, commercial, securities, and antitrust litigation.
Among his notable matters during his time at Kellogg, Albert supported litigation in an antitrust class action against Sutter Health, which operates 24 acute care hospitals in Northern California. The case, UFCW & Employers Benefit Trust v. Sutter Health et al., settled on the eve of trial for $575 million. In litigating that case and others, Albert has taken and defended multiple depositions, briefed dispositive motions, and presented oral argument in trial and appellate courts.
Albert was named to the 2022 Elite Trial Lawyers’ Rising Stars of the Plaintiffs’ Bar by The National Law Journal, honoring a select group of young lawyers who are up-and-comers in the plaintiffs’ bar demonstrating their litigation prowess. Albert has been selected by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in 2022 and 2023.
Albert served as a law clerk for Judge John M. Rogers of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He graduated from Yale Law School, where he was Managing Editor of Yale Journal of International Law and a teaching assistant for a course on legal writing. He earned his master’s degree in philosophy and his undergraduate degree in philosophy and political science from Stanford University, graduating with distinction and honors. He was also admitted to Phi Beta Kappa.
