Before joining Keller Postman, Katie worked as a defense litigator on personal injury, workers’ compensation, construction defect, and contract dispute matters. She has experience managing litigation from pre-filing claims handling and negotiations, through filing pleadings, written discovery, depositions, mediation, pre-trial motions, trial, and appeals. In addition, Katie has extensive experience working directly with judges, researching and advising them on issues presented in complex appeals. These respective experiences have provided Katie with the unique perspective of having seen litigation from both the plaintiff and defense sides and from both in front of and behind the bench.
She has also served as a judge for mock trial competitions through her local bar association and enjoys sharing her experiences as a lawyer with those entering or considering joining the legal profession. Katie served as an appellate law clerk for both Justice Aurelia Pucinski and Justice Kathryn E. Zenoff of the Illinois Appellate Court. She graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law with high honors where she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Chicago-Kent Law Review. She was also elected to the Order of the Coif, consistently appeared on the Dean’s List, and was a Kent Legal Scholar.
"Since I was young, I’ve had a deep-seated sense of fairness and integrity. I have applied these principles throughout my legal career, because I firmly believe that everyone is entitled to fair access and application of the law. It is my privilege to serve as an empathetic advocate and guide for those seeking justice through our legal system."
